Ensign Jewell 'Jack' Harmon Reid and crew were first to detect the Japanese fleet 700 nautical miles west of Midway, (2) BuNo unknown, VP-24, Midway June 1942. Ensign Gaylord Propst and crew attacked the Ijn with torpedoes. Canopy masks included.
